If you take 10,000 and multiply it by 10, you get 100,000; multiply it by 100 to get 1,000,000; and multiply it by 1,000 to get 10,000,000.
If you take that 10,000,000 and multiply it by 10 again, you get 1 Oku (100,000,000).
Example: The population of Japan is about 120 million (1 Oku 2000 Man).

② The "Cho" (1,000,000,000,000) unit
If you keep making 1 Oku larger, you get 1 billion, 10 billion, and 100 billion.
If you take that 100 billion and multiply it by 10 again, you get 1 Cho (1,000,000,000,000).
