Example: If your design specification says the product "must be waterproof," and Design Idea #1 is made of cardboard while Design Idea #2 is made of plastic, Design Idea #2 is the logical winner for that specific rule.

How to Select Your Design: Step-by-Step

Don't worry if this seems tricky; most designers follow a simple process to find the "winning" idea:

1. Review your ideas: Look back at the range of feasible ideas you sketched earlier.
2. Compare: Look at each idea side-by-side. Which one meets most of your design specifications?

1. "I just like it": Avoid personal opinions. Always point back to your Design Specification.
2. Ignoring the Client: Remember the person you are making this for! If they hate the color orange, don't justify an orange design just because you like it.
