Common Pitfalls & Examiner Nuances

  • Boundary Values in Inequalities: In quadratic discriminant questions (such as \(b^2 - 4ac > 0\)), candidates frequently write combined inequalities (e.g. \(-3 < k < 1\)) instead of disjoint sets (\(k < -3\) or \(k > 1\)).
