   Treating source utility and source reliability as the same question and answering both with a generic bias checklist.

   回避方法: For utility, write about content and context: what does this source reveal, and for what purpose. For reliability, write about provenance and motive: can the author's account be trusted. Answer them separately.
2. 2high影響する配点: 4Source evaluation

   Dismissing a source as unreliable simply because it shows bias, without explaining what the bias itself reveals.

   回避方法: State the bias, then explain what it shows about the author's position or the period. A biased source can still be highly useful evidence of contemporary attitudes.

   Missing one of the three bullet-pointed guidelines in the 22-mark Unit 2 essay.

   回避方法: Underline all three guidelines before you plan your answer, then check each one is addressed with its own paragraph before you finish.

   Writing a one-sided "do you agree?" essay in Unit 1 Section A without weighing an alternative factor.

   回避方法: Give the strongest alternative factor its own paragraph, then close with a qualified judgement such as "largely, but not entirely, because..." rather than a flat yes or no.

   Failing to cross-reference between Sources B, C, and D when asked why historical interpretations differ.

   回避方法: Name each source directly and compare what they say to each other in the same sentence, not in separate, unconnected paragraphs.

   Quoting directly from a source without adding independent contextual knowledge, a date, statistic, or named policy.

   回避方法: After each quote, add one fact you know that is not in the source itself. That is what shows genuine historical knowledge rather than comprehension.

   Writing a single unsupported statement for a 2 or 3-mark description question.

   回避方法: Give one clear point and one piece of supporting detail. A bare assertion with no illustration typically earns half marks or less.

   Running out of time and rushing the concluding judgement on the highest-tariff essay in each unit.

   回避方法: Watch the clock at the 60-minute mark in Unit 1 and the 45-minute mark in Unit 2. Both papers save their biggest mark allocation for the final question.
