### Sample Response (Email to a friend)

Subject: You must join my new Photography Club!

Dear Alex,

I hope you are well. I am writing to tell you about the new Photography Club I joined at school last Tuesday.

We meet every week in the art room. During the sessions, we learn how to use professional cameras, adjust lighting, and edit our photos using computer software. It is incredibly fun! I decided to join because I have always loved taking photos on my phone, but I wanted to learn how to capture high-quality images like a professional.

Next Thursday at 4 PM, we are going to the local park to practice outdoor portrait photography. You should definitely come along and try it with me!

Let me know if you can make it.

Best wishes,

Sam

The task is assessed out of 15 marks across three criteria:

- **1–2 marks**: The response is very brief, failing to address most of the required prompts.

**Criterion C: Conceptual Understanding / Text Type (3 marks)**

- **2 marks**: The text type chosen is appropriate, but some stylistic conventions are inconsistent, or the tone is occasionally too formal/informal.
- **1 mark**: An incorrect text type is selected (e.g., formal letter), indicating a lack of understanding of the target audience and context.
