Identical twins often look the same, so people might treat them more similarly than they would non-identical twins. This "similar treatment" is an environmental factor (Nurture) influencing a biological study (Nature)!

Nurture can change Nature (Neural Plasticity)

We used to think the brain was fixed from birth. However, we now know about plasticity. Life experiences (Nurture) can actually change the physical structure of the brain (Nature). For example, learning a new skill can create new neural pathways. This shows that the environment "re-wires" our biology.

Nature can change Nurture (Gene-Environment Interaction)

A child's genetic makeup might actually change the environment they grow up in.
Example: A child who is genetically predisposed to be aggressive (Nature) might provoke their parents to react angrily. The parents' anger is an environmental factor (Nurture), but it was caused by the child’s genes. This is called reactive gene-environment interaction.

Practical Application: The Danger of Extreme Views
